Waste Shredding and Sorting Line Shipped to Chile
Recently, a waste shredding and sorting line integrating a twin-shaft shredder and an eddy current separator completed full system commissioning and rust-proof packaging at a domestic production base and was shipped aboard an ocean-going vessel to Santiago, Chile. This line, purchased by a Chilean recycling company, will process mixed solid waste, including used home appliances and automobile dismantling waste, contributing to Chile’s “National Circular Economy Strategy.”

The line is precisely adapted to the mixed metal and non-metal components found in Chile’s mixed solid waste. The twin-shaft shredder, equipped with a high-strength, wear-resistant blade, breaks large lumps of solid waste into uniform particles, achieving an hourly processing capacity of 18-28 tons. The subsequent eddy current separator uses electromagnetic induction to efficiently separate non-ferrous metals such as copper and aluminum, achieving a purity exceeding 95%, significantly increasing the value of recycled resources. Furthermore, considering the high altitude and unstable voltage in parts of Chile, the equipment has been upgraded with a wide voltage adaptability system and low-temperature startup protection to ensure stable operation. Prior to shipment, the technical team and Chilean representatives completed four rounds of load testing and provided bilingual Spanish and Chinese operating manuals and remote fault diagnosis services.

Chile is currently increasing its investment in solid waste resource recovery, and demand for this type of integrated processing line is strong. This export of the production line not only addresses the challenges of difficult mixed solid waste separation and low recycling efficiency in the region, but also demonstrates the system solution capabilities of domestic environmental protection equipment. The two parties will also collaborate on operator training and process optimization, providing a “Chinese model” for solid waste treatment in South America.
